"Learning and Friendship"
Our Vision
Our community is empowered, included and actively engaged in lifelong learning.
Mission Statement
To provide intellectually stimulating, physically challenging and socially engaging programs for our members and visitors.
U3A Southern Gold Coast is a volunteer not-for-profit organisation. We welcome all senior Gold Coast (and Tweed ) residents to join our organisation to participate in more than 50 classes and activities - to meet new people and enjoy laughter and learning as we navigate the Third Age journey together.
Our motto is Learning and Friendship and our classes includes languages, art & craft, literature, games, music, information technology, general information, physical activities and inner health. It is well known that pursuing our passions and finding new interests improves our mental and physical health and quality of life.
We require no formal teaching qualifications - there are no assessments and no pre-requisites. We are here for one reason - for the sheer joy of learning and sharing. Our volunteer teachers bring a wealth of knowledge to the table and thrive on releasing that to you,
U3A Southern Gold Coast acknowledges the original inhabitants of Bundjalung country, we acknowledge the Yugambeh people, and their family groups and we recognise their connection to the land, waters and resources in the area now known as the Gold Coast.
We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
